Starfield Trailer

The first brand new Bethesda IP in 25 years Starfield is coming to Xbox Series X and PC on September 6th 2023!

Bethesda Game Studios is well known for their beloved IPs creating game worlds players can immerse themselves and get lost in and this time we're going to space with Starfield. A pure Sci-Fi adventure from Bethesda is definitely getting a lot of people hyped and we're hoping it meets expectations as one of the biggest Xbox console exclusives of 2023 and potentially of the last few years. As a Bethesda game, there are sure to be tonnes of fantastic characters and questlines to enjoy as you make your own way in this enormous galactic experience.

Starfield sets us in a whole new universe crafted by the artisans that brought us the Elder Scrolls and Fallout, create your own character in this RPG adventure as you explore the settled systems. Our protagonist begins as a space miner who has joined the Constellation a group of intergalactic explorers whose job it is to scour these new planets to unravel their mysteries.

We begin in the year 2330 and humanity has expanded its horizons beyond the solar system we know settling on new planets and bringing in a new age. Around 20 years prior to our start-point there has been a large war between the two largest factions of Starfield, the United Colonies and the Freestar Collective and although the war has passed its effects are clear and the peace between the factions does not seem all-convincing.

If you're looking to pick Starfield up on PC (Steam) or Xbox Series X then be sure to check out the deals on our Starfield price comparison above. Keep in mind Starfield will also be coming to Game Pass Ultimate on day one, a great reason to pick up a subscription to the service.

Shape your own story as you create your character from scratch

Starfield's protagonist will be one of your own design, with a deep character creator to allow you to have the freedom to design exactly who you want to play. You will also choose a background for your character which will effect your characters starting skills, for example a Medic background would lead to your character starting with higher medicine skills. You'll also be able to choose a religious background on character creation which will give specific traits. Plenty of RPG goodness here.

The skill system in Starfield will take inspiration from previous Bethesda titles with skills being unlocked as you level and then upgraded through using them more or completing specific challenges associated with each skill.

Over 1000 planets to explore in Starfield

Bethesda has claimed that the Starfield galaxy will have over 1000 planets to explore, all can be landed on and explored as you see fit. These planets will be a mixture of both procedural generation and tailored by the developers. We'll keep our fingers crossed that the procedural generation is advanced enough that these planets have enough variety and reasons to explore, but that remains to be seen.

Starfield is rich with different factions, from pirates to zealots that we will get to interact with, the stories of these factions are sure to get fans excited as when we consider The Elder Scrolls games in my opinion the sidequests associated with guilds were some of the best experiences I had in that series of games.
